What is Trinchies?

Hi Makers! This is Jho, from Papel atbp...

I am new in Mixed Media, I started when a customer turned into a friend introduced me this kind of Art, she love Art Journal, she love Tim Holtz! Everyday, I learned from her, and little by little I am starting to love the concept of it. As a card maker, where I myself love a clear, crisp and clean stamping, while Art Journal, or the Mixed Media technique itself love perfectly the imperfection of the art itself. Anyway, one of the art I learned was making a Trinchies, these are the 3x3 piece of cute Art. So every Tuesday I created a Trinchies, for now I'm working on Tim Holtz products. Below is my step by step how I created mine:

So, for this project I work with new Tim Holtz Distress Ink by Ranger, Unchartered Mariner and a piece of scrap mixed media paper.

Next, is playing with the ink, I smooch the paper down to the ink with water and from there I work on it with heat set in between. To make the color more intense, I use blending tool at this time.
The next step is optional, you can add splatter, for this I used the white distress Picket Fence, you can use black as well.
The, I need to make the focal to stand out by adding Vintage Photo and Black Soot on the edge to help my viewer to focus on my focal. You can add textures by doing some stencils and stamps, but since I will stamp my sentiments directly I avoid that this time.
And, now my sentiments and my focal point. I used one of the stamps of Stamper anonymous and the Moon Mas as my focal. So here we go!
P.S. its easy to smooch using the Craft Sheet instead of the glass.
Have a Blessed Day everyone!
