Create Magic! Distress Oxide and Silhouette Stamps

Posted by Jhoanna Dimayuga on

Hi Makers!

Are you Distress Oxide fan like me? I love this inks particularly working on blending. Here's the oxide inks that I played with, anyway I'm using Bristol Smooth Paper from Hobby Lobby.

Once I am happy to my blending, I spritz some water since oxide reacts to water and it gives distress effect after, see this one:

A little bit of water will do and heat set after, but I add more, this time with a splatter of white paint and the outcome was totally awesome! I do this technique as well with my Art Journal to add textures and interest.

From here, now we can start stamping. Do you know that oxides blending works perfect with Silhouette Stamps. I used my fairies stamps from Fairy Hugs (we will have this soon in the store), Nellie's Stamps and Lavinia Stamps. See how this stamps add story to my background.

After I felt my stamping is good enough to tell a story, I add a little bit of Black Soot Oxide Inks on the edge to frame my bookmark and adds up effect as well, and then add a black cardstock layer as a frame.

To make it more durable and I know it will be good for some time, I did the lamination and my final bookmark is here!

Thank you Makers! Hope you have a Magical Day!
